ABOUT ALONYS THE ARTIST

ABOUT ALONYS (BIO)

ABOUT ALONYS (BIO)

Alonys is a self taught artist originally from the beautiful city of San Diego, CA. She now resides and works out of THE EMPIRE. To regain sanity in an insane world, she began to express her thoughts and life in the form of abstract art. Simply beginning on supermarket paper bags, her work blossomed when it reached canvas of all sizes. She developed her style with acrylic paint, and began to add anything she could find around her to create original mixed media pieces. Surrounded by the entertainment industry, a major element in her art is the use of vinyl records, cd's, and clothing. She attempts to provoke thought by infusing words, vibrant colors, and textures in her work.
She has collaborated with clothing companies, designed custom pieces for recording artists and DJ's, created album covers, and has exhibited her work at some of San Diego and Los Angeles' premier restaurants and bars. In February of 2003, Alonys was featured as an "Artist on the Move" in Skinnie Entertainment Magazine. Throughout 2004-2005 she continued to exhibit in San Diego, Los Angeles, and participate in the "Postcards from the Edge Benefit" in New York City.

In Spring 2006 Alonys displayed 17 original works in a collection specifically created for Saks Fifth Avenue's Spring Collection Week. "Paper Sacks to Saks Fifth Avenue" was on display in the Women's Contemporary Department from April 2006 - January 2007.

April 7-29th 2007 Alonys•art exhibited at the "Another Herspective" all female group show, joining many talented established, and emerging artists from around the world.

May 5- June 3rd marked the 5 Year Anniversary celebration for Crewest Gallery in Downtown, Los Angeles. Alonys took part in the celebration by exhibiting her custom painting "Ain't No Crew Like The West" in the group show "Cinco".

Alonys went on to exhibit in Beverly Hills at the highly renowned Diane Merrick Clothing Salon for a private party, and started new collections of artwork.

Fall 2007 Alonys exhibited in Denver, Colorado for the month of October.

November 2007 Alonys participated for the first time in the Dia de Los Muertos celebration Top of the Dome IV Exhibit at Crewest Gallery. "Is Hip Hop Dead" was on display among many brilliant works of art.

In 2008 Alonys began MAD COLOUR by Alonys, creating a custom painted handbag line made from bamboo and canvas. In Spring 2010 Alonys officially launched the MAD COLOUR by Alonys line with custom painted hats which she has coined the "Head Piece Collection" merging Alonys' creativity and abilities within Art and Fashion.

Early Spring 2009 Alonys participated at the first ever Artist Open House at Lucky Strike Hollywood. Alonys displayed 2 live paintings that night, and 3 digital artworks that were seen nationally throughout Lucky Strikes.

In May 2009 Crewest Gallery invited Alonys to participate in their Anniversary show "Canceptual" exhibit. This exhibit introduced the world to artworks "Operation" and "Life Support" , apart of the new collection of work currently Untitled.

Fall 2009 Alonys was happy to have re-designed the www.alonysart.com virtual gallery that now allows collectors to purchase original artworks from the site.

November 7- 28 2009 "The Mad Scientist" was on display at the Top of the Dome VI show where Alonys celebrated Dia de los Muertos once again with the amazing Crewest Gallery.
